Karen Giles is a nationally board certified, New York State licensed acupuncturist.
Born and raised on Long Island, New York, Karen earned a Master of Acupuncture
degree from Tai Sophia Institute in Laurel, Maryland. As the first accredited
acupuncture program in the United States, Tai Sophia’s Master of Acupuncture
program combines rigorous classroom teaching with rich clinical experiences. As a
result, Karen has a strong theoretical and philosophical foundation of how to treat
each of her patients with skill, compassion and care. Prior to her studies at Tai Sophia, Karen received a Bachelor’s degree in Consumer
Economics. She then spent 15 years in the corporate world, relocating to Connecticut
and Virginia for work. Karen's exposure to the rigors of corporate culture not only
led her to acupuncture for her own health concerns but gives her the advantage of
understanding the demands of balancing professional success and personal well being. After being in a group practice in Maryland, Karen moved back to Long Island to be near family and continue this powerful work in private practice.
